An
11 year old boy, who accidentally shot himself in the throat while hunting, was
evacuated by an HH-43 crew from DET16
WARC Williams AFB, AZ. The landing
was made on the side of a hill in a small clearing surrounded large shrubs and
boulders. Once the patient was placed in the HUSKIE, a downwind marginal excess
power takeoff was made from the hill and the helicopter headed for the
hospital.
