These things we do

24 Sept 1961 Wilmington NC Air Show

A C-123 with the U.S. ARMY Parachute Demonstration Team on-board crashed during take off.

The HH-43 on display from DET49 EARC Seymour Johnson AFB got into action to help. The Huskie was

pushed away from the spectators, launched and was on-scene in 2 minutes. The rotor wash was credited

with saving most all of the lives.

It looks bad for the 0-10 Crash Truck. Although it is discharging foam, it appears that 6 and possibly seven

guys are trying to push it forward.
