Charles T. “Charlie” McSweeney

 

 

Charles Thomas "Charlie" McSweeney, 60, of, Kings Mountain, NC, died Sunday, September 02, 2007 at Wendover

Hospice House. He was born in Jamaica, Long Island, NY, and was the son of Doris Cooper McSweeney and the late

Terence William McSweeney.

 

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 9am, Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Willingboro, NJ

 

INTERMENT: 1pm, Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, Finns Point National Cemetery, Salem, NJ

 

Charles was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Willingboro, NJ and was a US Air Force Veteran who served

in Vietnam as a HH-43 Helicopter Crewchief and rescued downed pilots.  He was a volunteer fireman for 13 years and owned

a business called E-Z Auto Service in Willingboro.  He was an ASE certified mechanic and managed Guaranteed Tune-Up, and

the Speedee Oil Change on South Blvd. in Charlotte.  He was a loving husband, father, and friend who is dearly missed.

 

SURVIVORS: In addition to his mother, his wife of 23 years, Leslie Jean Hanson McSweeney of Kings Mountain;

sons, Christopher McSweeney of Kings Mountain; Charles T. McSweeney, Jr. of Medford, NJ; Chad McSweeney

of Williamstown, NJ; daughter, Julie Hartnett of Charlotte, NC; brothers & sisters-in-law, Terence, Jr. & Virginia McSweeney

of Sicklerville, NJ; Kevin & Patricia McSweeney of Dover, DE; Sean & Barbara McSweeney of Palmyra, NJ; sister &

brother-in-law, Eileen & Harry Bruckno of Staunton, VA; grandchildren, Michael McSweeney & Brianna McSweeney

of Williamstown, NJ; mother-in-law, Mary Hanson of Gastonia; sister-in-law & husband, Cherry & Al Rappoli of Rocky
