PEDRO RESCUE HELICOPTER ASSOCIATION (PRHA)
Association Update for June 2006
Two key items are in the forefront of the PRHA news—new members and the upcoming reunion in August.
New Members: At last count we have added more than 35 new members to the PRHA since January 2006. Ed Cartwright, our membership chair has been doing a fantastic job in contacting former Pedro associates, be they former crew members, detachment personnel, or other eligible persons.
Reunion: The 2006 reunion will be held 3-5 August in Windsor, CT., near Hartford. The Marriott Windsor Airport Hotel will be our reunion headquarters. For those of you who may not have heard, Windsor is just a few miles from Bloomfield, the home of the Kaman Corporation, the designer and builder of the Kaman H-43 helicopter. The H-43, in all of its models, is the focal point of the PRHA.
Current plans now include a tour of the Kaman plant on Friday, 4 August. On Saturday, we will visit the New England Air Museum located near the Bradley Intl Airport, Windsor. During the museum visit, we have an alternate tour of the city of Hartford which is available for those who have no desire to see any more aircraft. A coat and tie dinner is set for Saturday evening. Also, we will have a hospitality room available with refreshments for those who want to renew old friendships, meet new friends, or just tell war stories.
Hope to see you all at the reunion,
John Christianson
President, PRHA
