Mr. HUSKIE

Located 16 miles west of Sandpoint Idaho is the home of HORIZON Helicopters of Idaho. Horizon is owned by Mr. Gary Jorgenson of Laclede, Idaho. Horizon’s H-43Fs include:

N5197W (59-1564)- operational.

N559D- operational, leased to Precision  Helicopters, N55714 (62-4528)- damaged and to be restored, N556D (59-1556) under-going a frame up restoration and one other unidentified airframe. Mr. Jorgenson possesses a FAA H43 Type Certificate allowing HORIZON Helicopters to modify Military Aircraft to civilian standards. Gary is presently operating N5197W on jobs including heli-logging, firefighting and other high lift work. As N55714 and N556D are restored to flying condition, they too will be operated by Horizon. In September of 2000, Horizon Helicopters purchased all H-43 spares from Mosley Aviation in Arizona. This made Horizon Helicopters the largest single civilian owner/operator of H-43s and the world’s largest supplier of Huskie spares.
