Miranda Flitton

[Under Construction]

April 24th 2004 Miranda Flitton is my granddaughter and is racing in the Rookie Alcohol class at Goodhope Speedway in New Springfield, Ohio. This is her second year racing and is coming off a great year in the First Year Rookie Class where she finished runner up last year. Her first night out was a pretty good one, even though she had some bad racing luck. Starting sixth in the feature, Miranda worked herself up through traffic and was making a pass to go into second place. The second place driver did not see her on the inside and cut down in the corner and sent Miranda into the infield. She did a great job of saving the kart and managed to get back on track and finish a respectable fourth.

May 1 2004- Poor Miranda, if she could only find a crew chief that had a clue what was going on. The first heat found her with an over adjusted clutch that allowed the motor to rev way too high while the kart went nowhere. The second heat found little miss with the wrong gear. Fortunately in the feature, the crew chief got his head out of his butt and got the kart right. Alas the damage had already been done. Miranda had to start next to last. But never fear, Miranda is here! This little girl proceeded to put on a driving display that had Ric and I literally jumping up and down in the pits. It took her a little while to get around some of the karts, but she set sail to the front. She captured a 5th place finish by running down a kart that was an entire straight away ahead of her. Our hats go off to her for a great run despite having numerous problems to overcome!
