April 24th 2004 This is Mackenna Flitton. She is my granddaughter and five years old. She is racing at Goodhope Speedway in New Springfield, Ohio. This is her first year racing and is in the Kid Kart class. These are real race karts. They are powered by 50cc comer two stroke engines. This is an exhibition class only and is designed to teach the kids the ins and outs of racing. Her age group is from 4 to 7. We run a WKA spec restrictor plate in these engines so we can keep the speeds down until all the kids are comfortable in the kart. We will consider removing the restrictor plates when we are sure all the kids in the class are showing the necessary skills to go faster.
